Bought an 88 lebaron conv that turned out to have a cracked block and head. I've got a 87 shelbyz parts car sittin over in the weeds that I used as a parts car several years ago (only used the interior). Was told the engine/turbo was good, but fuel pump was bad (never tried to make it run). Would yhe TII bolt up to the 2.5 auto trans? Other than wiring, exhaust, computer, and fuel pump, what else might need to be changed?
I apreciate your input !!

The motor will bolt right up. You should just need to change the calibration.

Ok...thanks for the info. I've got all the parts I think...so if I can't find a cheap tbi motor I may plunge into it.

Is the Lebaron currently a 2.5 NA car? If so, yes, the 2.2 will bolt up, but to run a turbo calibration, you'll also need a turbo SMEC wiring harness.

I was just tryin to put together a cheap daily driver. The turbo II engine is still in the car, and it still has the computer and wiring.

The 2.2 TII has the same crank bolt size and pattern as the 2.5? I was wanting to keep the lebaron auto...

its all the same. Just keep the proper bolts with the flexplate vs flywheel as they are slightly different.

Yes, the flexplate should swap right over.

Put a hot battery in the T2 parts car, shot some starting fluid in er and she fired right up.sounded good, so I reckon I'll proceed.guess ill start pullin the motor/harness/computer tonight. I seen the harness is different at the injectors and throttle body, and I see the fuel pumps are different part #'s....but from the outside it seems pretty do-able. Exhaust even looks close...

Would you guys use the entire daytona wiring harness on the lebaron....or should I be ready for some splicin?

The problem with using the 87 harness on the 88 car is the two different computer setups. You would be much better off using an 88 turbo harness instead of trying to make the 87 harness work.

Yeah...turns out I was wrong....its an 88 shelbyz. So I guess I should be ok.

Oh well if they're both '88, everything should be plug n' play. :)

Good deal. Thanks for the info. Got the harness outta the shelby last night, now I guess I'm waiting on a power steering hose and timing belt.hope to set it over in there next week.

Again-I appreciate all of yalls input. Got the motor, harness, fuel pump, radiator/intercooler/trans cooler installed. Runs pretty good, jus hard to start (hot or cold). I expect a fresh tune up, trans fluid/filter/band adjustment, and new exhaust system will have it road ready
...thanks guys
