I just got done getting everything together for my 47RH (A618) figured someone here might benefit from this in the future. These are found in the 94-95 Ram 2500 with the V10 and the Diesel. Also common for earlier Mopars to give them OD and Lockup for highway driving.
----
The Diesel and V10's have different VB's, Governers and Torque Converters. Diesel has a brass gov weight in the tail shaft and the V10 has an aluminum valve, Superior sells a steel replacement for the V10 gov that wont stick, there are no replacement for the diesel weights currently. Either VB can be used in a Gas or Diesel app with the right shift kit.

By buying a PP from a forward drum you can fit an extra friction, the Suncoast piston is also thinner and allows for an extra friction.

Stock friction count is typically used here, just make sure to use quality frictions/steels. Increased line pressure keeps this from burning up.
OD:
Sonnax OD Piston Retainer S22634B Ball Bearing D12271 Ball Bearing 222272E
Sonnax Retainer gives better fluid transfer to the OD Section, also provides an O-Ring to seal better

Using the RP from the 48RE allows for an extra friction to be used
OD Direct:

Dropping down the size of the steels allows one more friction
6 Pinion Steel OD Planet WIT Trans PATC OD Mega Spring 8S, I was told this is stock size for 47RE so that might be cheaper than PATC
Extra Stuff:
4L80E Center snap ring Used to fit an extra friction in the forward clutch of the 47RE only

4.4 Lever also acceptable, 5.0 is not recommended as it can cause binding.
Shift Kit settings
Upgrades from thekit:
Sonnax 3-4 Shiftspring (Reccomended instead of the Trans-Go triple spring setup, stiffer 3-4 shift. This spring is commonly broken in stock transmissions and can be inspected without dropping the trans.)
Superior Lockupcover (Replaces the stock two-piece setup, recommended)
Page2 Step 1 Lockupfirmness at #48 .076 Single hole
Page 6 Step 4 #37.104
Page 7 Step 3 LockupPressure #48 .076
PR Adjustment-
4 turns is 140 psi
6 turns is 180psi
4.5 turns is160-165psi
Set at 6 turns, 185is the goal. 210+ Need rear clutchspring support
Over 200psi and you risk bending the bellville spring.
Ill format this better and clean it up later it did not paste well from OneNote.
