My '02 Neon has 125,000kms on it now. (77600miles)
I've run Quaker State 10w30 and Napa silver filters, changed at proper intervals.

It's now got a slight ticking to the valvetrain. I was wondering what's best to do for it?

Upgrading to sinthetic?

Synthetic won't fix it, its probably got a bad lifter. Get some mechanics ears and try to narrow it down to a cylinder then remove the valve cover and have a look.

Could be normal. My 99 2.0 DOHC ticks pretty much all the time now with 147K miles. piston slap, same as my L body, go figure. It gets bad during the winter, but hey. It's got 147K miles on it, gets 40 MPG highway and I'm not complaining.

When I was at the Chrysler dealer we replaced a few rocker/lifter assemblies on the 2.0's for valvetrain noise.

And it suddenly hit me, my long-block was replaced under warranty at about 56,000kms.

So it's more like 70,000kms on it and ticking. Dang it, it's just broken in!
