Hey guys, my name is Tom but most people that know me as "turbotom" in my area. I owned and repaired a lot of DSMs/Mitsus and I had a 89 Dodge Spirit ES 2.5 turbo automatic at one point of my life, The spirit was a kick --- daily driver and added parts from a DSM to the spirit which she was spanking honda guys all day. They hated me in the spirit because they got beat by a grandma's car, lol. Been working on DSMs for 12 years now and my favorite DSMs is the Chrysler/Eagle of course, Talon/Laser FTW!! Not only the spirit I put a 4g63t in a 93 Hyundai Excel which they hated me even more, lol. I joined this forum because a member on here said there are great bunch of guys here and seeing that I'm some what a chrysler guy, I love mopar cars.

Here is a on going long build:

I have owned this car for a while now and in 2002 the car sat because of crank walk. Well she been siting ever since then, until currently, lol. It's a 95 Eagle Talon AWD 5 speed with 57k original miles and this year she is getting everything done to her. I'm just tired of the car sitting in the back yard and I want her running this year again. Reason she sat so long was 1) at the time I was restoring flipping DSMs 2) juggling a wife and kids and 3) in and out of jobs trying to better myself.

Here is what she looked like now:

This is what I want it to look like when it's done:

Well since now I don't have a wife anymore nagging at my ear and all I have to do is worry about my kids, it's time to bring the car back to life. So I'm just building a street car, not interested on making her a drag queen because the way I look at it is this. I would LOVE to own a EVO 9 MR but I don't have the funds right now, so the next best thing is my Talon which in 2001 I paid $10k for her with 38k on the odometer. Needless to say, she will be running again and I have been DSMLess for about a good 4 years now. It's driving me nuts not to have a DSM again, so I have to have something this year for sure.

Welcome to the site! There are a few folks on here who are also into the DSM scene. Looks like you've taken a lot of time to build up yours. Thanks for also taking the time to post the pics.

If you don't have a CAS plug, use a 2g 4 wire TPS connector and cutting a slot for fit the into the CAS.

Nice build. It is one of my latent ambitions to bolt a 4g63 to the old a470 3spd auto we have and run it in a k-car.

Why hello there! Nice build! I may be slightly envious of your low mile shell. ;) Also, did you want to sell the blue one? :p Do you have the youtube channel Turbo Tom's Garage?

hey Mary beth, that blue one belongs to his buddy shane.. I think his screen name on dsmtuners is like curly g or something? you know him over there..it recently ran 12's at import faceoff a few weeks ago at New England dragway. These are my friends I went to N.E.D. with to help out.

Actually yes we went back a couple weeks ago after he replaced his turbo and did some mild tuning along with that guy who has that bmw with the 4g63 .. I think hes part of the infamous crew? But we got it running a 12.3 and everyone was running atleast .3-.5 slower that day due to poor track prep so we figured it should run 11's next time out which also happens to be this coming sunday, the same race i'm trying to make with my car but it's not looking good

Updates: 11/12/2013

Ok I have been M.I.A for a while determined to get this car running and on the road. Here is what I have been up to:

Seeing that my fenders are black and bumper, they needed to be painted

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-08-22172823_zps3dfcfe62.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-08-22172823_zps3dfcfe62.jpg.html)

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-08-22172844_zps18dd7220.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-08-22172844_zps18dd7220.jpg.html)

Well the battery is in the back so I need a kill switch

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-09-10194644_zpsd51f6bae.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-09-10194644_zpsd51f6bae.jpg.html)

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-09-10194702_zpsd23039a1.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-09-10194702_zpsd23039a1.jpg.html)

Front end installed and I got a black hood. Some people say it's a poor man's carbon fiber look but honestly I really don't want to get one because of the fading and cracking of carbon fiber hoods after time. I love look though so I will be sticking to black OEM hood.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-09-17185917_zps4b73ad85.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-09-17185917_zps4b73ad85.jpg.html)

Last thing to paint and I was running low on cash so went to local paint shop order the x13 Black OEM paint in a paint can. Sanded it and did the best I could to the hatch. I will be also keeping the black hatch look because I wanted the black that's on the roof to continue to the hatch.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-09-18115324_zps610ddb85.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-09-18115324_zps610ddb85.jpg.html)

After everything was said and done I was able to drive the car but not very long:

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-10-07192244_zpscdd642de.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-10-07192244_zpscdd642de.jpg.html)

Few days ago I had to replace the gas tank because it was some bad that the tank wasn't worth saving. So me and my buddy shayne installed a new gas tank using a lift, thank god. So the passenger sender unit was leaking due to the white connector being lose and the O-ring that keeps the gas in the tank let go, great!!!

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-10-07192307_zps02a78788.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-10-07192307_zps02a78788.jpg.html)

So I decided to matter in my own hands and make something work. Also the factory gas gauge stop working to I fab something up.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-10-07192307_zps02a78788.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-10-07192307_zps02a78788.jpg.html)

Welding was done by a welder at work and welded a new plate on top of that:

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-10-08161315_zps0bbf7c2d.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-10-08161315_zps0bbf7c2d.jpg.html)

My new fuel gauge

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q197/turbotom20g/2013-10-10212450_zps07769c1d.jpg (http://s136.photobucket.com/user/turbotom20g/media/2013-10-10212450_zps07769c1d.jpg.html)

Turbo Joe came to the rescue to finish welding the return crossover line on the sender base. I also installed a new fuel level sender.

Ok even with the sender fixed I was still having problems running lean. I tried everything and found the problem. My new 255lph walbro pump was defective and will not hold constant fuel pressure on heavy loads. So I decided to ditch the wally and go with the AEM 320lph and YUP fixed all my problems. The AEM is amazing and out flows (2x) 255lph walbros, plus much more quiet than the winding wallys, lol.

This is my excel that I 4g63 swapped the engine to. It was a dedication video for the car because I miss her and I was told she might be in the junk yard. Poor car, should of never get rid of her, smh.
