How can I modify my 58mm tbody to use my linkage with the kick down cable bracket? I was thinking of removing the plastic from the current linkage and then welding the 46mm auto linkage to it. Would this work? How have people done it in the past?

You unbolt the stock 46mm throttle cable arm, get a die grinder and do the same on the 58mm unit, weld the 46mm throttle on and I had to extend the little bit that sticks out to hit the throttle stop screw with some welds. Use the auto kickdown bracket, bolts right up as do the sensors.

I couldn't just weld the plate from the 46mm unit to the plate from the 58mm unit? Seems easier to align that way.

The only welder i own costs $89 at harbor freight. But more like $150 with an auto-darkening helmet and a 2lb spool of wire that's worth a crap. :)

Sure, but then you have to cut the 58mm one to remove the cable pieces. It takes 15 sec to unbolt the 46mm unit, another 2 mins with a grinder to remove the 58mm unit. Nothing to align, there is a rectangle slot for the throttle plate to fit into.
