Was offered and I accepted to drive this in the upcoming June 1st and 2nd (Not sure I will do both days)
It is a 2.5 N/A and 5 speed. 2700 pounds. Should be great fun!

Awesome! Ive kind of been watching that van/team a bit. Seems like a pretty cool race vehicle considering the oddball factor and the reliability of it. I kind of want to know more about that air dam thing on the bottom of the front bumper.

Well, the first ~200lb is in the bench seats.. My 90 2.5 tbi/van weighed 3020 lbs with no bench seats.

That's a good question. I have no idea why they would be that much heavier, though. They have extra cladding strapped to them but there would have to be a crapload of insulation hiding in there to make up the rest of that difference. Ive done a lot of work in the engine bay and underneath via Strax22's 95 turbo van, and there's nothing in the front or on the bottom that would explain any extra weight.

Should be fun, needs a turbo, :p

They use it for 12 hour endurance races so they wanted reliability more than quickness.

I have to take this back. I think i remember there being more sound insulation on both sides of the firewall. Anyone know of anything else?

Different design doors, glass, mouldings, bumpers, hatch, dash, gauges, seats etc, and they are way quieter than 1st gen's so probably more/better sound insulation.
