I know I need to get a boost leak tester on there to really know anything (I need to find it first), but I am only able to hit 6-8 psi with the wastegate line unhooked. The turbo spools fast, and there was some preload on the actuator, but I can't seem to hit over 8psi. This was happening before I did some wastegate housing work, but I thought that was because of the missing bolt in the turbine housing (the bolt hole was open to the inside of the housing). After replacing that bolt, the spool is faster, but I still can't hit over 6-8psi. Is it possible the wastegate actuator is bad and not holding? The marks on the wastegate puck (keep in mind this is a second wastegate housing) look like the puck is nearly centered, and the turbo is securely bolted to the manifold.

Its a 2.2, Grand National (S60ish) turbo that has hit 14psi no problem in the past, and it spins freely without scraping, 3" exhaust, no cat, FMIC, MBC, large can wastegate, ported head

Leak in the plumbing between the compressor and throttle body?

Leaking or unhooked bov will do that.

Yeah, I need to check that. I need to find the leak tester, its buried somewhere...

I suppose it could be leaking, but I always hear it open, and it has held 14psi in the past.

Wire the wastegate shut, see if anything changes.

Oh man, that sounds like a huge hassle. My wastegate actuator is on the exhaust side of the turbo, bolted to the intake.

Loose hose clamp will do that, don't ask me how I know. :yuck:

Yeah, I'll try to pressure test it tomorrow

I would look into the BOV. I am fitting inconsistent boost right now and know cheap ebay BOV is the culprit.
