Greetings,
I struck out twice today. I went to the dealer to order a starter heat shield for my 86 Turbo Z. I got one for my 87 several years back, but they tell me they can no longer get them. Should I just grab one in a yard?
Next,
A friend told me he could re-key my ignition cylinder to match the door locks. He is having a difficult time getting the tumbler kit. Any tips on this? Worst case, he said he could rekey the door cylinders, but that would mean I have to find a place to park the car indoors for awhile.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks,
-Lee

when I got a new starter it came with the heat shield, maybe check into aftermarket.

My aftermarket starter from Rock Auto did not come with one. Looks like I'm gonna try to grab one from a yard for originality's sake. Otherwise I'll just go with the aftermarket heat wrap.

Check summit racing and see what they have. Then find it cheaper on amazon....lol.
