Can anyone post a pic of a stock vacuum solenoid setup for a T2 motor? I have a vacuum line disconnected and not sure which nipple it needs to go on. The boost is cutting out under heavy acceleration.

Thanks. I saw that diagram but admit I'm not great at understanding them. I was hoping for an actual photo of the setup on a stock T2 motor. After further review, my issue appears to be with the wastegate solenoid. The top nipple is broken off inside the vacuum line feeding it. Would this cause over boost condition - as the engine hesitates hard and bucks violently under heavy acceleration (esp 5th gear).

ohh..and the diagram under my hood is 4405209 - but the print is so small I can't quite read it without my reading glasses - anyone have a link to a larger diagram ?

Finally, if I require a replacement solenoid, will any do (ie. purge) so long as it has the same # of nipples ?

An engine picture will definitely not help you. Why, you ask?

See below pictures.

If the wastegate actuator canister on the turbo does not see boost, it will not regulate boost on the turbo, and your turbo will try to run as much boost as the exhaust gas allow. Your computer will cut fuel at around 15psi to save your engine from exploding. Stop hitting boost until this problem is fixed.

Follow the diagram one line at the time, it really isn't that hard.

For the 89 TII boost control system vacuum line goes from manifold vacuum source, to the bottom port of the wastegate solenoid, then from the side port, to a orifice, and to the wastegate actuator of the turbo.

Both of the engine bay have the vacuum lines hooked up per the 89 TII diagram, can you see anything?
