Hi Folks,

Maple Grove Raceway is holding the 3rd annual Mega Mopar Action event this year on June 22-23. I know it's the same weekend as SDAC, but if any of the local guys aren't heading out for that, please consider coming out to the Grove. Brock Yates Jr. can't make it to SDAC this year, but he and his Shelby Charger are going to make an appearance at the Grove.

I have a flier for the show, but I haven't posted enough here yet to be able to attach it. Here's a link to the show flier: http://www.robsrodshop.com/events/Maple%20Grove%20Mega%20Mopar%20Flier.pdf

Some highlights on the show for this year:

Show field and vendors will be over on the pit side of the track making it much easier for racers to check out the show cars, and everybody else to check out the race cars.

Saturday awards are Ray Barton's Top 25 Pics, open to any of the cars entered in the show. Sunday is judged awards based on classes. Judging is by the Delaware Valley Mopar Association.

Lower Entry Fees!

Car show entry fee is $25 for one day, $40 for both days. Car show entry covers driver and passenger. Bring a buddy and it's cheaper to enter your car in the show than come as a spectator!

Spectator or Crew 1-Day $25, 2-Day, $40.
Kids under 12 free

Have your car in the show but want to make some passes down the track? Test-N-Tune for car show entry is $10 for 1-day.

Coming to race? Friday night grudge racing is $20 for cars driven to the track, $25 if you bring it in on a trailer.
Friday night Gambler race is $25

All other racing:
Hemi Challenge, Quick 8 - $75
Late Model Hemi Challenge, Nostalgia Super Stock/Stock - $50
Electronics, Non-Electronics 1-day - $50
Street DOT 1-Day - $35

Swap meet spaces available. Spaces are 15' x 20' - $25. Each space includes one gate ticket. Sunday entry included with Saturday.

Coming from out of the area and interested in camping? Camping is available on site. Call Maple Grove Park: 610-856-9208

Has Brock Yates Jr. ever been to (supported) an Sdac event before?

I believe he has, at least that's the way it sounded when we were talking the other day. He may have gone incognito. Next time I'm, talking with him I'll ask.

He used to be a regular at DVSDAC get togethers back in the day.

Man, I wish you could get around that date. Hopefully one of these years.

I don't pick the date, the track does. I just help with the show side of things.

Has there been any discussion around a location for next year's SDAC? I would be glad to talk to the folks at the track about having it there in conjunction with the Mopar show. They do hold autocrosses at the track, but can't while drag racing is going on. They use the pit side of the track for the autocross.

Good to know. I'm still not 100% about SDAC so this would be a great alternative.

Not that bad of an idea, Maple Grove is looking to build the show, SDAC could use the exposure and a lot of SDAC members are mopar fans. AutoX could be Monday. Not sure of the night life around Maple Grove, it's sorta in the middle of nowhere.

Depending on what folks are looking for in night life, the Valley Forge Casino isn't too far away in King of Prussia. There was a bar over by the Maple Grove campground. I can check to see if that's still there.

Could always ask the track to change?

We have yet to team up with another event, in part because we appreciate the opportunity to host an event specifically for our members. Also in part because many of our members that attend SDAC also like to also go to other Mopar events, so SDAC is nice for them because it is focused on our beloved cars.

Next year's SDAC location is TBD. We are currently accepting proposals from SDAC Chapters. Any Chapter that wishes to host next year or the year after should make plans to come to SDAC this year so that we can discuss the opportunity.

I have. I've suggested September might get them a better Mopar turnout being away from Carlisle & the Nats. With the other events held at the track, they prefer to keep it around this weekend in June.

I get having SDAC as an independent event. I haven't been able to make it to one yet, but a couple of my friends have. Just wanted to toss the idea out there for next year.

I completely understand having SDAC a stand alone gig but there could be some good promoting from Maple Grove and Mopar Action magazine (which host's the show) if they tie in our event with theirs as a promotion. The track was short of racers last year so having our own "class" I'm sure wouldn't be a problem and would be cheaper than renting a track. Just something to kick around.
