alternative to carpet what have you used?

What have you guys used instead of carpet? I removed the carpet out of my horizon because of water entry in the passenger floorboard. I've patched the floor but I don't really want to put carpet back in. Any of the spray in stuff work to insulate from heat and noise? Any info appreciated, thanks.

I used Herculiner in my Horizon. Probably killed some noise, but i mainly wanted something durable, grippy and non-absorbent to cover the floor in. I have given up on getting it to not leak water in.

I bought some cheap e-bay carpetting for Matchbox with extra matching material so I could do the rear from hatch to where the rear seat used to be back in the 80s.
