Will the shock for a heavier vehicle (such as a van or truck) do a better job dampening than one designed for a lighter vehicle? ie. If we put a shock for a full-size van on a Spirit, will it be more "performance" shock than the same line of shocks for the Spirit (ie. KYB Gas-A-Just)?

To me it should, but I don't know if it does.

Thanks

If you don't go overboard maybe it would do a "better" job depending on what you're trying to do. Being over dampened can be just as bad as under. Which van shocks are you looking at fitting? Whats your spring rate?

Problem with most factory shocks including ones for heavier vehicles is that compression valving is much lower than rebound valving.
