View Full Version : Shadow fog lights

I'm working bringing my 88 Shadow ES back to life. Since it is an ES, it had factory fog lights, so the wiring and switch is already there, as are the brackets. However, the lights are not.

Looks like these P body lights are different from the G/AA fog lights and L-body lights, both of which mount from the bottom. These mount through the back of the housing, correct? Are there any inexpensive aftermarket alternatives that would work with the factory mounts?

Hey Scott, although I'm not up to speed on what your options may be, I noticed these covers for sale a few minutes ago. Might want to snap them up before they disappear...

They must be smoking the really good stuff...

They do sort of mount through the back/bottom corner. Hard to explain and probably why every single set I have ever come across was broken at some point because its such a convoluted setup. For something as old as 88 they probably had the nice glass lense/metal shell marchal lights. Later ones were cheaper all plastic lense/housing from NAL and/or hella.

Are the lights the same 88-94?

Maybe I should get these and put them on my R/T. I'm sure then if I rolled it through Barrett Jackson the announcers would notice these covers.

I don't believe they are. I have done enough looking to know that there is a difference in some of the brackets at the least, but I haven't seen enough Shadow fog lights for sale to know for sure. I would really like to have a set of brackets and fogs for my 90' car. I took the last ones off and pitched them back when I was all about weight savings. :(

My 90 shadow uses standard stud mount fog lights stock.

Thanks Raccoon. Yes the ones ajakeski posted are G/AA body fog lamps.

Fog lights just block the air to the FMIC you should be putting in there anyway.

Nice. Next thing you'll be saying is to paint flames on the car!

It's not fast enough for flames.

Ok, so I was able to get connectors off a 93 ES convertible. I can plug these into the factory wiring harness and use the factory switch and relay. However the connectors on the end of these later wiring looks like it uses a different bulb than the H3. Can anyone confirm? I looked it up on Rock Auto and it showed 2 different bulbs. Considering getting these lights because they will mount from behind (so I can use the factory brackets) and they are inexpensive ($20).

Did you find your lamps?
There are some housings for sale here. Not sure if they'll work for you:

Those might work.

I've also found Blazer rear mount tractor lights that look like they will work also.

The ebay ones are Bosch 150s same size as the fog lights on the GLH if that helps any.

Blazer rear mount tractor lights for the win!

Bolts right up, cut ends of factory wires going to fog lights, a couple of weather tight connectors to connect power and ground to the lights.

Best part, these lights are $10 each from Walmart.
