Ok I thought I would never run into this problem but here we go. This little green box located under the dash by the fuse block is no where to be found in the FSM. It has the part # 5226640 and says automatic shut-down on the casing. I search the threads on here and there was someone that ran into the same thing I did. No power to the fuel pump. I traced the wiring all the way to this little box. I took it apart and found that the main resistor was blown and some let out all the magic. LOL!! The thread I read said basically confirmed that no parts store carries this and so here is my first question, What the hell is this if they didn't bother putting it in the FSM (wiring or fuel and emissions manual)? 2nd, is there a way to bypass this "little green box"? I know its not really needed since my dad Shelby GLHS doesn't have it. And 3rd, if anyone that has this green box can please give me the color code off the main resistor that's labeled R1 right in the middle of the boardhttps://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/110803105968245596411/albums/5835567451438554673/5847622164278337442https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/110803105968245596411/albums/5835567451438554673/5847622179832136818 Oh I guess I should tell you guys that this is a 87 Omni automatic that was carbrated and is being turned into a GLH-T clone. It has a stock wiring harness out of a Shelby Charger and has been upgrade with T II status with MAP sensor under the hood and all the mods needed to the logic module. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/110803105968245596411/albums/5835567451438554673/5835569660267116962

Is there any way you could check out the color code on that resistor?

Yup, looks like you blew a resistor... :drum:

Sometimes if you pull them, you can still see color underneath, or only the surface of the stripe has oxidised black, and very careful scraping will show you what color it was.

Do you know what this little green box does? The FSM wiring book doesn't even show this thing. I thought maybe not only look under L/M/Z body but I checked the hole freaking book and Nothing. My dad looked in our 1987 parts book that lists everything that was made that year and nothing!

Welllll, theory-etically, the ASD should have been in the power module for -85 to -87 but in 1984 was external, for '88 with the SMEC it was external again, but under the hood and don't look like that.... however, there was rumored to be some odd 87.5 stuff. OR the ASD in the power module could have gone flaky on that way back and someone stuck an '84 in there... really hard to know when you get something previously frankensteined what all ended up in it.

You're dealing with some variation of this....

^^^^ That's the hookup in an '84....

Oh, I'm wondering if you've got a resistor in there or a "back EMF protection diode" in which case you can just stick a 1N4001 in there probably.

I think this will replace it... http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1094374&parttype=3380

Which is the replacement ASD for an '84... note they're listing it as fuel pump relay or fuel injection relay... friggin' annoying when the dealer calls it one thing, the FSM something else, the parts stores catalogs something else again, and the haynes "The wibbly gizmo, refer to dealer service"

It's a resistor, the first colors band is red and has a +-5% gold band

I thought the little green box under the dash was the intermittent wiper controller.

ASD relay is under the hood.

But then it could be an "extra" ASD ....
