Anything special needed to be done to remove the shifter cables from the trans on a 568? they look like they should just pop off but I don't want to break anything.

They just pop off. I used a screw driver. It can be a doozie though.

While your at it, replace the bushings with some booger poly units.

Actually, while they can be hard to get off, be careful. I assume the linkage is the same as a 523, and i broke one of the levers off last time i took off the cables. Luckily, i knew where one was in a JY, but still..just be careful!
