What rod bolts are in the rods? Have the big ends been checked/sized?

The bolts are whatever they come with. I beleive they use the ARP 2000 bolts. There are some stampings on the head but ill have to look and see what they say when i get home. The big ends have not been sized or checked. These are new rods so im not sure why you would ask these questions? Are there issues with Eagle rods that i dont know about? I can check the big ends with a dial bore later tonight.

There was supposed to be issues with Eagles quality but FYI, I've had a few sets checked and they were fine, even mine are still ok after many years of abuse and rebuilds, :faint:

Thanks Simon. Not a bad idea to have them checked then. When i run by the machine shop this weekend ill have him check them.

The machinist I use says he's never seen one that was good to go from Eagle. He thinks they don't size the big end with the bolts torqued down. Nothing wrong with the rods and checking the size is something that should be done prior to assembly anyways. I am interested in the rods but need to know what kind of bolts are in them. If they weren't upgraded they will show 8740 on the bolts.

On the TBI manifold: The way that external WG is pointed, which cars is it a good fit for? What all is needed to use it- turbo, oil-drain.. intake manifold clearance, etc

The bolts say Eagle ARP 2000 on them. If you mean "upgraded" from eagle then that possible but they are the bolts i received with the rods when purchased new.

Thats a darn shame that every Eagle rod is out of round. How far out are they usually?

This was included with a L-Body i purchased. I have never used a TBI manifold in any application so i cant answer your questions on fitment. Maybe someone will chime in that has used one. If you can wait a day, i will be more then happy to mock it up with a motor on the stand and take pictures.

.0003-.0004 IIRC is what he said the norm was. You got the good bolts with the rods.

are the injectors the correct impedance for our turbo-mopar computers? What pressure are they rated at to flow 83lb hr?

forcefed,

Yes they are low imp and will work with our computers. Edit: just found out they are rated at 43psi.

Was that with the standard 8740 bolts or the upgraded 2000's?

Stupid question but I guess you can get the bolts from ARP? I bought a set years ago but they need bolts.

My machinist may be sticking me for a resize when it doesn't need it then. sneaky...next time (if there is a next time) I'll check them myself before taking them over to him.

The couple times I've gotten them they were part of the purchase when new.
