It is an older Little Scotchman iron worker. Should be a great upgrade from the mechanical one i have now....Which i will sell soon.

It's used for forming the metal parts of your mounts etc?

Punching holes and cutting to length.

Got it out of the truck. This sucker is heavy. Could NOT move it around. So made a couple supports and added heavy duty casters. NOW I can move it.

So how heavy IS it?

I dont know, I thought i could move it a little once on the ground with a couple hand carts, but they would not even pick it up a hair. They bent!

I thought those were made by making the hole (drill, punch, ect), then using a ball-ended part and reciever to radius them?

Or maybe it's how crap ends up if you use a blunt punch and oversize die. :D ... mark it up and call it trick ...

Good for you Johnny. Congrats on getting it and being able to afford to upgrade your business.

I do have my 5 ton Bantom iron worker for sale, it should pay for at least half of this one. Had a few calls but no takers yet.

You know, now that you mention it I believe I've seen this done with a conical wooden dowel and a die exactly as you describe! Hmm...probably what fueled my original statement, though it was a bit more complicated. Engineers...what ya gonna do? LOL

Yah, you could definitely make a rig to do it in one operation with a bevelled die and round shouldered punch..... or you could make a 1:6 scale english wheel and employ gnomes to hand finish them..

Sold the old punch for $200 less than I bought the new one for. WIN!

The dimpled holes do add rigidity to a piece of sheet metal

I use this machine mostly to make the 1st gen Dodge diesel engine mount that for some reason started selling quite well.
And it sure is nice not to drill some things, just walk over, switch it on and 2 seconds later the hole is there.
Like for making brackets, etc.
Use it for cutting angled steels, long flat pieces in to short correct lengths.

NEW items? I have a thread I post on what's new.

I can get what ever Prothane makes. I know they are coming out with LX parts.
4 or 5 companies are doing things for them...even energy suspension.
