View Full Version : What is this Logic Module?

I bought this logic module at a Mopar swap meet in Norwalk, OH. I bought it because it was a 87 TII and would make a nice spare for my collection. I didn't notice this sticker on it till I got home. I noticed the sticker wasn't stock, so I opened it up to find a new EProm has been soldered in.

Anyone know whose sticker or writing this is?

Seems like it's from a "real" company, someone who would go through the trouble to produce a label... Anyone know what, or if FM or Lambros (sp?) did cals? If all else fails, and since it is obviously not a current vendor, the cal itself could hold clues... Might be something Rob would be willing to take a look at?

Makes sense, but I wonder about the sharpie markings... Might just be for the guy who pulled to know what it came from, but the BREACH part makes me think it could have been the name of a customer for whom the cal was made...

Plus, the warning about the cal being protected, etc doesn't make a whole lot of sense there either, especially when taken with the PROM change, unless it's just a standard prom soldered in place... I kinda go the impression it was removable.

I would agree except for the part about the calibration being copyrighted. I don't think Cardone would bother with that wording. I'd say this is/was a vendor computer. Maybe an old ND LM? These days, everyone seems to socket the computers to make revisions later easier. If it's soldered in, I'd say it's an older re-cal...

I have an old ND computer and it does not have that sticker on it. It also has the persons name that ordered it on the chip (86 TI)

The chip HAS been changed, and soldered in. Not a socket of any type.

There was a sticker laying in there that used to cover up the UV hole on the chip, I can't remember if it said anything on it or not....I'll have to look again.

I could remove the chip and read it in.

That's an FWD-P computer. You can open it up and there should be some info on the chip label that will tell you more. We used thiose stickers back in the early 2000's so I think that LM is anywhere from 6-12 years old.....

the sharpie markings were from wherever the core came from. the chip tag would have had a line of code at top, 2nd line would be a last name, and third line would be our calibration id
