Hi!

I am experiencing power loss when I pickup speed. When I push the accelerator, the power fades away as the RPM’s increase… usually starts fading away at about 2200 RPM’s. e.g. It Shifts to second gear, RPM’s drop & power increases then fades away… It does this with a cool motor and warm motor through all three gears. Its not overheating… I can’t make it past 3000 RPM (68mph). If I floor it… I actually lose speed! It also takes the car about 15-20 seconds of cranking to start.

It has a new fuel pump, filter, plugs, wires, coil, and injector. I don’t know what to look at now… I need some direction!

IF you have a battery gauge in the dash, keep an eye on it... see if it starts drooping.

Check to see if your cat is plugged up sounds like an exhaust restriction.

Good suggestion... knew I was missing something, because it sounds like classic symptoms for exhaust restriction, if you kick the cat and it rattles, that's 100% it, but not rattling doesn't mean it's good... but you should also check for crushed pipe from hitting a rock or going off a high curb, or a baffle type muffler with a loose baffle.

Thanks!! I didn't even think about the exhaust being possibly blocked... I really hope thats what it is! Thanks for the replies, I'll post here in a few days when I have an opportunity to check it and let yall know the results. The car is being brought back to life after sitting for 8 years haha

Ohhh, could even have a rodent nest in the muffler or something.

What about a bad TPS? Should I look at that also?

It's possible, as is the FPR not being manifold referenced (not changing fuel pressure according to vacuum or boost) due to bad lines or failure.

Cam and or ignition timing could be off also.
