hey all!my 87 lbody i coverted to t2 will blow smoke under the hood after getin into the throttle heavy.it smells of oil and the engine is new w all new gaskets.the big prob is that it looks like it is coming from under intake and exhaust manifolds but too hard to really say.i did install tu"s braided oil line and was thinkin it may not be tight enuff?i cant c or even reach back there to check?how can i get at this fitting without removing cyl head?thanks!

Get a extendable mirror and a flashlight.

You could do that as well

I may be wrong, but I think some of the bolt holes for the intake enter oil passages and they can leak if they aren't sealed or seal properly. Gravity takes the oil to the nice hot exhaust manifold and you get oil smell and maybe smoke.

Could be just about anything, like crank seal even, where it's throwing spray UP from off the crank and landing on the exhaust.

did retorue head.using arp studs and mp headgasket.i did not put any thread sealer on any intake bolts during assembly.if i coast to a stop you can c smoke come out of hood vent and sometimes out around edge of hood.its pissin me off.the car doesnt leave any stains underneath.

If your PCV system hooked up correctly?

yes.what would an incorrectly installed one do?

spray out oil, leak, put oil into the intake breather hose, which tend to dry rot in the bottom, and leak... there's other ways but you'd see it come out the tailpipe.

+1 on the pvc, thats the next suspect. then the valve cover gasket.make sure the oil returns are clear while ya gotthe valve cover off.
