I haven't come across any that didn't work so you are probably good. I do recomend getting some header paint and soaking the crap out of it until its dripping off, when it dries its like a cast and won't un-ravel.

Header paint, never heard of that before.

It's the same as exhaust manifold paint, but they mark it up another few bucks :D

VHT? I think makes it, it's usually on the shelf.

I have a couple of cans of "Duplicolor High Heat with Ceramic" in stock to go on mine, and also some generic "BBQ" paint for further downstream/unseen bits if that runs out.

Think the Duplicolor stuff is discontinued though, I picked mine up on clearance a while back. They wanna plug the engine enamel when you search for it, but that doesn't go quite as high temp.

DEI is pretty good stuff and the new version is mucho better, its shiny, like it has graphite and is rated for a higher temp. The usual sources, Jeg's, Summit etc.

Why not ceramic coat it? It looks good and is a thermal barrier.

Mc(race)Master Carr sells some industrial stuff too. I take a piece of SS filler rod to tie it on tight at each end.

I like the DEI stuff as well. They also make a special spray to coat it.

Note, wrapping has been known to accelerate the demise if mild steel headers.

It is my exhaust, not a header. Just wanted to wrap it near the steering rack and where it is close
to the gas tank and rear air bags.

I take a piece of SS filler rod to tie it on tight at each end.
Great idea!

My exhaust is stainless.

Pffft, tidying ends up with wire ties, I was gonna go for a halloween "revenge of the mummy" theme....

Just kidding, I was actually thinking hose clamps here. Wire is lighter though... but I've tied stuff back with wire before and hated how the ends always turn into wrist slashers whenever you do anything under the hood... hmmm... though I can get some aluminum "craft wire" I've seen in a dollar store here.... thinking about that, because it's unrusty and light.

Heard about teh corrosion problem, hoping to have the surface sealed off pretty good, and then top seal the wrap to stop it holding moisture against the header.

Yep, big time. I few years ago I had my aluminized dp wrapped, holy crap did that sucker rust, :(

The wrap holds in too much heat and will burn the carbon out of mild steel, causing it to look like dried mud and cracking.

OIC... maybe I'll slip wash the inside of it with kitty litter soup (Bentonite and diatomite), and see if I can glaze it on...

Well I wrapped the area by the air bags and lines. It is aluminized steel there. If it rusts sooner because of it, can't help it.
