Ok, I lied, I am looking at it, lol.

Ok, the last 2 nights at the track, my charging system dropped to around 10 volts and wouldn't move up, the next day its back to normal, so I just checked it today, alternator is fine, putting out over a 100 amps and the diodes are fine, scanner shows 13.7 volts, tester shows 14 volts, stays pretty stable. I recreate the drag strip scenerio and its putting out 60 amps and 13.5 volts, won't dip down BUT the SES light starts flickering and my dash gauge shows about 12 volts? Its like this for a few minutes then clears up. It wouldn't act like it did on Friday.

Computer problem? I have all my grounds cleaned and working, engine has a few more grounds added? This is getting annoying, not to mention sometimes my SES light flash's and sets off my alky controller, sigh.

Only codes are 13 Map, I've been getting that for years, A/C relay and rad fan relay.

Belt slip????

---------- Post added at 03:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:50 PM ----------

Further to that is your wastegate pointed anywhere your belt? in high humidity, release of pressure might cause condensing of water vapor and it might be like hitting the belt with a mister every so often. Also suspect could be any crank case ventilation that's spitting oil mist, or spray from dipstick etc

No belt slip, serpentine belt and the tensioner is tensioning, :p

No oil spray etc. I just changed out the regulator part of the SMEC, so we'll see what happens.

Rob, anyway to bump up the voltage a bit? its always around 13.7, I"d like it a bit higher.

Maybe there's a plate loose in your battery, shorting out a cell every so often. Or some kind of metallic crap/sliver of plate in there making random contact.

Its a yellow top Optima.

I have faith in you Simon, you can break anything. :D

Are you wanting the idle volts set higher or wot?

Voltage all around, I think it can be done, just don't know in the code where to do it.

Thanks, I think, :faint:

And just to be sure, I went and rechecked all engine and harness grounds.

Not right now, not easily anyway. I'm going to adopt the voltage reg table from the later code in the next release. But, that won't be until I can get the staging limiter to where I want it...

Ok, thanks.

I am going for the less likely stuff because I'm SURE you've checked the alt sense wire and all the grounding a bazillion times right?

Sounds like you have a flaky diode tree.

I thought diodes too but they check out fine, if it continues, I'll replace the diode plate. Its an ND.

In MP tune i can set wot voltage to 15v but thats on a LM, I found it under the last heading on the bottom. I just slid the bar to the right.

Smec maybe different i guess?

We can do the same at WOT with the SMEC's.

The value is inthere, but it doesn't work. I took it out 'cause it set codes and stuff.

Also doesn't work - I took it out...
