I need a 782 head. I want one that is has roller valvetrain and roller cam. Preferably rebuilt or a bare head so I can rebuild it myself. TBI cam is a plus and port work is a plus but I'm not looking for anything crazy. must have pics to show no cracks between valves and all ports. LMK what you have shipped to 44688.

No cracks eh? Sounds like you are headed to the J yard for a NA head then...

I may have a tbi laying around in my garage. I'll look this afternoon. Dunno how much shipping on it will be. But iirc it's pretty clean. I'll check for cracks.

Cracks between seats is totally normal and acceptable. I used to be on a quest for the same head you are... years ago... but learned 1 out of every umpteenbazzilion 782 heads are not cracked there. G heads are pretty good castings and don't crack there nearly as much, but you'll need a 782. Also... pressure testing it is the true way to tell a head's condition... not visually inspections/photos.

Seriously, go to the junk yard. I don't know if Pull-A-Part is near you but their price on heads is pretty good. It doesn't seem to matter when I go I generally see at least one 2.2 or 2.5 with a refurbished head on it. You pay $50 and may get one that's recently been redone with new valve seats guides, etc. They've generally been checked out rather well too and don't have bad cracks.

Sorry, I checked my head out and it has a crack in a water jacket by a valve so is scrap but, if you need any good parts off any otherwise complete common block roller cam head let me know by Private Message. Thanks, Steve

I think it was easier finding a replacement for my TIII head than it finding a 782 in good condition......
JY doesn't have any good ones at the moment. Only car I didn't check had 200xxx miles, didn't even bother pulling the head.

Suck. And you also have to make sure the cam turns over okay. I got a refurbished head from a vendor and the cam woulnd't turn over freely....
