So a while back my old a/c idler pulley departed. I have a new pulley and I found a close enough bolt that is not close enough because it is squelching on occasion and is not spinning in a freely manner. If I try to spin it w/o a belt it will turn but not freely turn. I am convinced that my take on the bolt and "spacer" is not adequate. Does anyone have a part explosion and/or bolt specifications?

Thanks!
Frank

Does your new pulley have the spacer bushing insert ?

Yes it does.

Did you try flipping the pulley over ? The bearing isnt pressed into the pulley dead center, its offset and you may have it backwards. I know the bracket is different between an early and CB engine but on mine I have it setup with the spacer bushing setup with the 'lip' on the outside and the pulley is set more inwards. Bolt is just an M10, its nothing special.

I will look at that and ensure I have the correct bolt. Are you using the shim between the pulley and the mounting ear?

The spacer bushing lip should be enough of a shim to hold it out and away from the arm.

That isnt the right pulley but it does show the spacer bushing you should have.
