Nope, bellhousing is different. I have heard that the 2.7 5-spd from the Sebring will fit though.

3.0L has its own design, as does the 2.7, I think a 3.5 fits the 2.7, 2.2/2.5 are the same, 2.0/2.4 the same, 3.3/3/8 the same.

OK next Question what 5spd is there that fits the 3.5 or the 3.3 or the 3.8?

The 2.2/2.5 and 2.6 and 3.0 seem kinda close, half the bolts the same, but starter positions different, so if you wanted to cobble one to another for a low output daily, you could probably figure out how. But I think the 3.3/3.8 are way off from those, so probably can't figure anything along those line with those. Dunno if there was a european standard trans for them or not.

Ive tried to bolt a 3.0 543 to a 3.3, it isnt even close. I dont see an easy way to do it.

The 2.7, 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.8, and 4.0 60* v6s ALL share the same bellhousing pattern. The new pentastar 3.6 might too but im not sure on that. The t850 that was available on 2.7 v6s does bolt up to a 3.3. There was also a t850 for 2.4 turbos but that one does not bolt up. You could steal the factory quaife from one, though. :D

I was in contact with a guy who had done it in a 2g caravan many many years ago. Back then i had figured out it was possible but hadnt seen anyone do it until i found this one guy and started an email contact. He claimed he was going to go back to auto and sell me the full swap setup for shipping price because he didnt feel the t-850 complemented the stock 3.3 powerband, but he fell out of contact and never did it.

And after i figured out someone else had done it i didnt really care enough to do it either. I may have been the first to figure it out but since i wasnt the first to do it i didnt think there was anything to prove anymore. From that time, though, i think it took another 7 or 8 years before i finally saw pictures of another finished swap on the internet.

I still think about trying a 3.5 in an old k-based car. If i ever got that swap done id probably go after a t850 for it.

The Neon V6 is my car. I posted here before about this car, but nobody seemed interested so I dropped the subject.

The T850 is not the best choice for the 3.3, but it is the only manual trans choice. The main problems are the gear ratios, and the final drive ratio. The torquey V6 doesn't need the 3.77:1 final drive, at least not in a lighter car. The gear ratio spread is also odd. First is very steep, so you have to shift into 2nd quickly. I don't like the spread between gears, the transition between 1st and 2nd feels wrong RPM wise.

The T850 also requires custom axles, or a very weird combination of SRT4 parts and V6 T850 parts. You cannot buy the parts you need separately from the dealer, they are part of the transmission assembly.

I am so glad that someone else has verified the A543 does not fit. Everyone claims the 3L bolt pattern is the same as the Chrysler V6. It is a rumor that will not ever die despite my best effort to put out the correct information.

Let me know if there are any more questions, I lurk here on a regular basis. I have had many turbo dodge cars over the years, and I still have a Lebaron convertible turbo that I have to keep on the road, so I am always trying to keep up with what is going on around here.

Everyone claims the 3L bolt pattern is the same as the Chrysler V6. The wisdom of the people is priceless where "our" cars are concerned. Did you know for example that the 3.0 is interference, the neon motor is made by mitsubishi and that it's the same as the one in the spirit R/T....
