why hello dere!

I have an 84 rampage with 5 lug swapped parts from a GLHS and SRT wheels with 205/45 or 50 17's. my problem is the tire sidewall is too tall and rubs against the strut unless i have the camber set as far positive it will go, my question is, what is the tallest sidewall diameter that will fit with giving front camber at least -.5 in the front, if i can more. any help would be great so i dont have to keep mounting and dismounting tires till i find the right size, unless it wont work in that case ill just get some 15's and run those.

Will a spacer fix it or is it hitting the bottom of the spring perch?

If it is too tall a 205 40 should fit. That is the same height as a 205 50 15.

its rubbing into the bottom of the spring perch, about where its welded to the actual strut itself. i will try a 205 40, see how that does.

That is the right size in 17", you are correct Kelly. You can also run a 225/35 and a 215/40, but you'll need a wider rim for both. I think a 7.5 for the 215 and an 8" rim for the 225, although I haven't run the 225 yet. The size of a 215/40 will be significantly larger, but will clear the struts. The 225 is only about .1" taller than stock. But with a 7" rim a 205/40 is probably the best option.

Yes I recommended the 205/40s since he has a 6" wheel. They are about an inch shorter than what you have on there now. Have you mounted a wheel to see how much clearance you have? I don't know the offset of those off hand but those that have run them appear to sit farther in on their cars. I haven't seen a set of SRT4 wheels mounted on an L body yet.

here is my project log, if you look in some of the pictures you can see how much positive camber i have to run to get them not to rub, and its actually causing me to have rubbing issues with the brake rotor rubbing against the knuckle also. these are the only wheels i have for this vehicle so i have no choice but to run them for now.

Judging by the back, you shouldn't have a problem once you get the proper height tire on there. They sit out a bit farther than I expected.

Either you're dealing in Newton Meters again, or that isn't going to fit. :D
