Cool! Looks like a pretty tight fit though.

im curious to see how it handles. not exactly a ton of work has to be put into a 2.4 to produce 300whp

though im told the 2.4 is almost as heavy as a sohc 3.0 but ive never checked

I spent some time talking to this guy on the phone. he put this motor in a shadow to start with.

gave up on the shadow to build the neon. the car is running on MS1 and has a 543 from the shadow in the vid. it is a stock VR4 less the twin turbo's. in this vid the motor has it's twin turbos installed. but when it was moved into the neon it lacks the room for the turbos. the clutch is a 6 puck running on a stock flywheel.

I am just questioning the clutch brand. South Bend clutches has a weird business model. group buys and stuff for smaller platforms but we are way too small.

He's local, I'm sure that just like any other clutch shop, you can carry a clutch in and have it modified. It might not be cost effective, but they'll do it.

I'm glad he didn't do what he did to the shadow.

I'm just saying you can probably get another 100-150hp more over the 2.4 before spendy internals, 200 if you're Captain Squirtuner and have a bit of luck.

what i think is the clutch shop knew that 2.2 and 2.5 clutches will work with the 3.0 as well as the fact that center force and others build clutches just for the 3.0 so they just gave him a clutch and called it "custom".

It might not be cost effective, but they'll do it. I dunno if you really mean cost effective, if off the shelf stuff is unobtainium, or you otherwise have to ship across country or from Australia to get a custom, then I would imagine it's fairly cost effective..

ooo for sure. I just know people dont like to swap 2.0 honda engines into the CRX because apparently it kills handling. idk if setting up your suspension correctly would fix that problem or not though.

i think if i have to stick with the sohc 3.0 and dodge, my next car would be a 1g neon with a 3.0 turbo.
