My car is back from the welder. Need to seal the seams now. I was looking at a couple eastwood products. Any recommendations??

Eastwood carries a brush on gray sealer and has 11oz cans (aerosol) of an inhibitor that sets up a shield. Any experiences out there??

All I know is that the factory stuff sucks, it will rust underneath it. Any way I just used an adhesive caulk from Lowes(that said it was for use outside and for metal). Then I painted both sides of it w/ POR 15(just wear gloves).

Any experience with that stuff? I have not heard of it before, but I am looking for a rust inhibiter myself, and would be interested to see what the best product out there is.

I'm gonna redo the drip rail sealant on mine, and am gonna use a 3m product, their Ultrapro seam sealer.
Have you seen autobodydepot.net (http://www.autobodydepot.net/scripts/depot.exe?pgm=depotgate.bbx&custnum=WEB-CUST++&password=&sesid=0728173912) ? They have a werehouse/store near me and are afilliated with HOK, Tri City paint and PPG. I go buy there when I need something.

I use POR-15 and polyurethane roofing caulk.

Personally Ive had great experience with PPG DP epoxy primer products. They are TOUGH, and should be applied to bare metal before ANYTHING else, including seam sealer. Most of the rust products mentioned are made to go on over rusted metal, not clean metal. The PPG epoxy is about the best you will find.

After that I put a 3M brand seam sealer over all the seams, and another coat of PPG epoxy, or what ever exterior paint you want.

I used por 15 and then sealed the seams with silcone caulk from home depot.

I'll add my vote for por15. Good stuff.

I gave the inside floors of my satellite a good thick coat of tremclad rust paint. Took a while to fully cure, but is hard now and has stopped what little surface rust there was.:thumb:
