Switched Gauge cluster, now no codes?

I switched out the old gauge cluster for one that had a tach. Now I don't get an activity through the check engine light. Any idea what I missed?

does the light turn on when the dash does its power-on diagnostic?
is there power to the bulb?
is the bulb good?

Yes, the light does power up when you start the van. Forgot to tell you guys that.
