Was racing the last race of the season for the Sport Compact event Friday night and ran two time trails, both 12.82's (only a couple of thou difference!) I was stoked, dailed a 12.81. Lined up and got the biggest bog I've ever expierenced! It bogged slightly after the launch and I couldn't recover at all. Ran 16.xx something at 99mph.
I was so pissed at the car/me/track. I loaded it up changed the tires back to streets, etc.. while talking to my next door "Pit" neighbor (In the same boat) "I just can't end the season on that kinda note". So I figure, "Why not", I unhook and figure I'll wail on it tommorrow.

So Saturday morning I line up for the 1st time run and all is well! Click off 12.82 again! 2nd time run hooks hard and goes good. Click of my new best 12.508@111.44mph! (Where did that come from! Best runs before were a couple of 12.64's and some 12.7's)

So now what do I dial? I figured it wouldn't hook up as well so I did the "Guess-timate" and dial 12.65 and figured I'd race at the top end of the track.

I pull the #5 guy in points for that class (looked like a short day after all...) He's in the top 5 in a couple of other classes too. Oh well....

And I take him! Had all sorts of folks coming up and thanking me (I'm not registered in thier class so I'm "The Spoiler")

Start to run the next class of cars and it starts raining! After 3 hours they finally call it.

I was ready for making some rounds but I guess it wasn't meant to be. I still got a new best, I just need to figure out where it came from!

Congrats Steve! That would be even faster a mile closer to sea level!

One of these days......

I think the density altitude was around 8200ft (a good day...)

Some day I'll get down to sea level. And I'll get to experience a whole new level of parts breakage I'm sure :thumb: .
