FWD hybrid cam gears alingment marks

I just got me a nice set of Fwd hybrid cam gears just looking for info on setting up the cam timing marks before i mount them on the cams .
Hoping Cindy will chime in .

the cam gears are identical, but neon cams have one cam with the keyway up and one down, so when installed both timing marks will face each other, one at 3pm, one at 9am

i was curious as to why the dowel holes were not installed into the cam gears??
