318 engine

ok so got a new question i saw on a differant form that the 318 mopar engine will line up with the a 3 speed auto trany out of a 83 challenger and all i would have 2 do is get motor mounts fabricated...any1 now if it will fit up perfect or would i have to make adjustments

Not sure what trans the 83 challenger uses for a trans or how durable it is... guessing it wasn't designed for V8 torque?

It is a scaled down version of a 904/30RH torqueflite.

It will set in there fairly well. A 318 will not bolt to an '83 Challenger transmission, however. You would have to use a proper smallblock trans.
