Wanted: Kick Down Cable.

Im going to be putting a trans in my new yorker finally, my fatherinlaw which is doing it says the kick down cable doesn't see right and isnt adjusting like it should, can this be bought new or do i have to get used? and does anyone have one for sale? i have a 87 New Yorker T2 A413
