Anyone have one on a shelf and wants to make a couple bucks? Not having much luck finding a good P/N for a new one.

Thanks,
Pat

I think I might have one. I'll check after work and let you know.

I was just searching for one and didn't get any responses BUT, got lucky and tried this and it fits perfectly " Brand new factory Jeep parts. Part number J5360058 and 52018823"
scored it on ebay for about $20.00 shipped

Mine had two nipples...one for the vent line and one open to atmosphere. Any issues going to the single nipple valve?

Good to hear on the jeep parts :) I saw those listed before and was ready to buy a set but didnt think the dimensions would work. Our stock valve was backordered forever and chrysler did re-release them last year or the year before but at a significantly higher price (closer to $50, used to be under $20). Then they decided to cancel the rubber mounting grommet so getting a new valve and then having to reuse the junk, rock hard grommet... Doesnt make sense what their logic is.

Every single valve I have seen (P-body & minivan tanks) only had 1 port, maybe one of them had a cap on it at one point ? Having the one open to atmosphere would totally defeat the purpose of even having the evaporative emissions/vapor recovery system, not to mention the car would smell like gasoline during hot weather or even direct sunlight exposure if its truly a direct open path to the outside.

Sorry for the late response...I used the jeep valve and grommet and they both fit just fine. I haven't run the car yet, but I don't anticipate any issues at all.

Pat, was the jeep valve tight after putting it in?

I grabbed a jeep valve and grommet when I re-did my '92 daytona tank and the valve has quite a bit of movement. I ended up recycling one that someone here on the forum sent me because it made me a little nervous. Just was curious as to your thoughts on it.

Mine had a bit of momvenent but I also don't plan on rolling the car over so I'm not concerned. Over time I'm sure that rubber will get harder then a wedding prick and you won't be able to pull the valve out and it won't have movement at all anymore.

Mine was OK on my '88.

This saved me a headache I think. Those were a perfect fit for my 88 LeBaron tank.
She's finally ready to go into the car.

btw, is there a hose that is supposed to go onto the nipple? All I know of are the fuel/return lines, and the vent line from the sending unit.

Isn't the 3rd line on the tank the one that goes to the charcoal canister?

No, that metal tube is capped.

Yup. Its a backup means of draining the tank should the fuel pump totally die on you.
