so check this out... talking with JT over the weekend, primarily parking lot antics at 22, the idea has been brought up, and this year were looking into a mobile media unit.. I.E. the side of my white van :thumb:.. ive got it set up for all sorts of audio and video and gaming getups, but we wont discuss all that now,.... but with a projector, and and Xbox... we started thinking.... here it is..

this is still in the works however, the concept is this...

"Average Joe in something slow!!!"

everyone knows that the GLHS was released in Forza4 along with a very detailed and correct "Top Gear test track" (u see where im going with this)... if we can get a group big enough, we can dedicate a night to do our own round of "a big star in a small car"... you get 1 lap in a bone stock GLHS and record the time... we'll have a leader board, and all, just like the show... we were thinking of coming up with something as far as prizes, but that all still needs to be worked out... im just posting this up now to gauge interest to see if I should start putting some supplys together for this..

what y'all think??

thanks,
Jaren

Oh great, another thing to put on the "If I get to go to SDAC" list, squeeze in a few hours of practice on Forza4 so I don't look like a complete bonehead :D

I think this is an awesome idea! lol

I think you would also need to standardize game settings.

Manual trans, traction control off, ABS off, etc.

I wouldn't call a stock GLHS slow, we might have to enlist a N/A car. :thumb:

Maybe get them on the GLHS club and put the car in the club garage so people that can't get to SDAC can join in too?

I'm down to bring a second console/game if need be. Maybe we could somehow setup a system link to go head to head?

sounds like there is some good interest tho... cool ill work on getting a power supply for all this... aux batteries are going in next weekend and hopefully a 6000 watt power inverter will be on its way shortly!!!

No problem, Dave's the mastermind behind a lotta great ideas he doesn't have time to implement, which is kinda why we were taling about it... and thanks for stepping up to champion this  I agree, we definitely have enough interest

Pay the machine shop to finish my shortblock, cover the gas, and pay for all the time I miss work :)

Mike you need to stay at the Forza Friday events longer or use the rivals events. :) Slow in Fast out hasn't been around all these years for nothing. Especially in a FWD car.

and pay for all the time I miss work :)Oh, maybe we can fix that, we can send a letter saying you've been selected to speak at a convention of industry leaders on quality in machining in the 21st century, all paid up, but they also need to give you a $50 per diem to cover sundries like cab fare and tips. Then we'll get JT to follow it up with a phone call. :thumb:

Any chance you can get either one of these coded into the video game by June? :)

On the first lap? I run a 134 on the first lap. I can run a 131 but not on the first lap.

EDIT: that is with all the assists off. Figure since the car didn't come stock with stability control, traction control, or abs then we shouldn't be using them.

No, I never count the first lap. I don't know if that's what we are going for? Anyway, I also run with all the assists off for the same reasons.

It's amazing how much faster the SRT-4 is than the GLHS!

Not sure if they got the GLHS dynamics down right or maybe the SRT4 is too fast. That LSD helps a ton though. If people join the Turbo-mopar.com club on Forza we should be able to see each others times unless we've gone faster on the same track with another D class car.
