Think it melts too easy that stuff.

Would be good for rub strips or skids to protect oil pan, bottom of air dam etc, on a lowered car.

The weak bonding between olefin molecules allows local thermal excitations to disrupt the crystalline order of a given chain piece-by-piece, giving it much poorer heat resistance than other high-strength fibers. Its melting point (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melting_point) is around 144 to 152 °C (291 to 306 °F), and, according to DSM, it is not advisable to use UHMWPE fibers at temperatures exceeding 80 to 100 °C (176 to 212 °F) for long periods of time. 2 5/8" x 24" is about as small as you can go and still have a little bit of wiggle room. That's enough to cut a set of spacers. I went with Delrin and I've heard that certain types of nylon work. Depending on the car most people go 1/2" or 1". P-bodies have the least clearance. My 1/2" spacers are pretty tight on my 94 Shadow.

take the gasket that goes between the upper and lower intakes and use that as a stencle.

when i laser cut my spacers, i put my gasket in a scanner and then had the scanner send it to the plasma cutter and it just cut them out for me. this was with steel though... i didnt mill them flat so they require permatex to seal correctly.
