This ended up being quie the project, but I'm super happy with the end results. They are BBS RS 15x7, each complete wheel only weighs 15.5 pounds.

Those look very period correct, I like it. Didn't you have Centurions on there before, or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes, I had polished centurion IIs on the car, and some RML modern snowflakes. These are the best of everything though IMO, lightweight, period correct, and they just look classy. I still have the other wheels if I ever change my mind.

Nicely done and period correct.

GLHNSLHT2,
They are G Force Sports, 205 55R15.

86seeS,
They are awesome, but I figure I have close to $3k into the wheels and tires, plus countless hours polishing and cleaning the various parts. I would be happy to go over the details of the project if you are still interested though.

Yeah I almost posted last night that those were very high dollar wheels. As far as I know they were never available in 5x100 either. Are yours redrilled or?

I was worried for a sec that we would be twins, but I think its RXII's that I'm putting on the vert...

As was already said, those look very period correct.

There were several models of the RS that came from the factory in 5x100. They were either for Toyota, or VW. The Toyota rims need to have the center bore opened from 54.1mm to 57mm to work on our cars, but the VW rims already have the 57mm center bore.

My rims were originally 5x114.3 and I had them redrilled with steel inserts installed. The true 5x100 rims are very hard to find as they were only sold in Europe and Japan as far as I understand.

It's funny as those wheels are some of the first ones I fell in love with for my Daytona, but at the price of something like $400 EACH I decided I had to go with something different! LOL

Thanks, I didn't know either of those. I shop for wheels over on the VW sites and RS are their holy grail. Every set I've seen over there is modded in some fashion like yours. They are great wheels in the sense that you can make any combination that you want or width and offset.

$1600 for a real set is an absolute steal. Unless you are talking new back when they were sold new?

Those wheels look great! Especially with the color combo of the car and the silver stripe and silver lower bottom.

BBS wheels, and recaro seats..pretty soon you are going to have a mostly european car. Is a lotus engine next?

I love the wheels.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. It was the late '90's, early 2000's. They might have even been more than that. I can't remember exactly.

If I had the money it would have a masi head. I've tried several times to buy one but it never worked out. Now I have too much into the 8V engine to swap it out.

BBS RS' are my all time favorite wheels...they look good on the G body but it needs to be moAr lower....I wish they weren't so expensive.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ride height. I think it's pretty good for a period correct car, but I also think it would look better lowered another inch or two. One thing I will say for sure is that its easier to drive around town sitting at it's current height. My Imperial sits about an 1 inch lower and it's constantly bottoming out over bigger bumps and dips.

Let's see a shot directly level from the side. I think the height might be close to perfect.

This is as close to a side shot as I have at the moment.
