As most of you know, I build polyurethane engine mounts for the FWD Cars, Ramchargers and Dodge trucks.
Always trying to improve the products.
QUESTION:
The mounts for the gas trucks #2469 or #2265 have what I would call anti-rotation bumps on the flat surface.
I have put those on our gas engine mounts in the past, but not the diesel mounts. Seems like they do not need to be there.
We are going to make some stainless mounts and would like to NOT add them, but will if they do need to be there.
DO you know for sure?
Seems like the diesel ones do not "rotate" so I would think the gas style ones shouldn't without the bump.

On the steel you mean?

My gut feeling is, that ordinary steel will either corrode in place or have "stiction" due to coating or rough surface finish, or corroding on... however a shiny stainless mount with a high quality finish, will not do any of that :(

So it would seem to me, that while they might be dispensed with on the regular mount, it may be more likely to need them on stainless... but that's just my spitball.
