Ok well my goals for my 89 daytona shelby are about 250-275 whp will an exhaust shop 2.5 inch exhaust, most likely with crinkle bends be enough for that?

Of course i would be supplied a high flow cat and muffler for the exhaust and they would just use the tubing. Any ideas?

I'd go 3" exhaust shop bent...

...but if you want a 2.5" exhaust shop bent with Dynomax Stainless Ultra Flow exhaust, there is one on an '88 Shelby Z in my driveway I'll make you a deal on! :thumb:

actually that wouldnt be bad, Is it a full exhaust? like cat, muffler, and all piping behind that? or just a cat back? I really need the whole thing.

Complete from turbo flange back. '88 Downpipe, 2.5" dynomax high flow converter, 2.5" muffler shop bent pipes, 2.5" Dynomax stainless steel ultraflow muffler, tail pipe tip.

Some pics of it still on the car HERE (http://www.badassperformance.com/mrides/88_Z/88_shelby_Z_more_again_pics.html)

doesnt look bad but is the downpipe 2.25 or 2.5 ?

Not sure. If it is the stock '88 T2 it might be 2.25". If you have a 2.5" then you could easily splice it in instead.

yeah.wouldnt be a problem at all, might actually be easier to just make it work with my 2.5 downpipe just because i dont feel like goofing around with removing the bolts to the swingvalve

Sooo, you interested? Make me an offer I cannot refuse! Keep in mind the muffler and converter alone when new were over $200...

Sorry to butt in but,

you shouldn't be installing a non-mandrel 2.5" on any 2.2/2.5l TD where you want to run serious WHP like 250+... when you upgrade something do it well, get a 3" mandrel or 3" crimp at _least_...

I agree, bigger is better with a turbo car, but on a street car, 2.5" is great compared to stock 1-7/8" crap...

Let me know when you're looking then... I'm trying to unload that whole roller, but if you need the exhaust, I'll take it off and sell it seperate.

For maximum flow a cut out is the only way to go. Cheap and great flow. The downsides is is loud as he!!. Check out FWD performance for mandrel kits. They are very reasonably priced and flow way better than a crimp system.

yeah ive seen all of the kits offered by the vendors but shipping would be astronomical i would imagine for those things. what i would ideally do is get an exhaust thats in good shape and just have an exhaust shop transfer it over. I only have a floor jack to do an exhaust with and that isnt much. And JT did you mean to send me that pm? If so later on in the future id be interested in it!

Shipping is cheap on exhaust products as its in little pieces.

I started to use Magnaflow mufflers.... Quiet for 3" straight through. No more driving at 85 mph because I go def at 75 mph because of the classic "droan".

Would be sooo nice to get rid of the drone I get with the open Hooker Muffler. My wife may actually drive in my Daytona then.
