This is my first attempt at Photoshop, so bear with me. I've been tossing a couple ideas around as far as painting my '86 CS, and thought I'd ask for some opinions. Click the thumbnails for full size images.

First one is the factory Slate Blue, or at least as close as I could get it (photo car was originally white):

Second is a black/blue two tone:

And third is a dark silver/blue two tone:

the silver/blue looks nice, but IMO the best is the original style silver from the belt line down.

You should do the blue and a flat black hood. Flat black hoods on these types of Daytonas look great because they overlap to the front of the grille. :thumb:

Oh sure, there's a pic of one in the right color! I've heard it called a bunch of different names, I'm trying to dig up my '86 dealer brochure to see what Chryco officially called it.

That was an '85 thing, '86's were monochrome. Not that it matters much, since I'm thinking about getting away from the monochrome scheme. As for the flat black hood, that's kind of what's on it now, and while I don't really dislike it, I'm just not feeling it.

flat black hoods are kinda meh to me too. And don't look as good as gloss or even medium gloss black. Another accent color may look good if used as a pinstripe stripe to seperate the two colors at the seam where they meet.

A thin red pinstripe would be nice.

That was the other thing I was debating. I know it would look better with some sort of stripe separating the two colors, but since the car already has the bright red pinstripe in the side moulding, I didn't know if another one in bright red would be overkill or not.
