when driving my 89 daytona shelby i have a little boost issue. It has two stock intercoolers plumbed in parallell. I have it set for about 12 psi. when i get on it hard it only goes to ten then a second later it will jump to thirteen then settle back at 12 where i have it set for max boost right now. I was first thinking my dist timing/cam timing could be off. But it is just wierd that it will only do this little issue some of the time. The car has brand new plugs, wires, cap, rotor. It is also running on 93 -94 octane fuel. Maybe my catylytic converter is possibly plugged? The exhaust is 100% bone stock thanks

What kind of boost controller and how is it plumbed?

its an ebay boost controller This one>http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/High-Quality-Manual-Boost-Controller-Ecliplse-Talon-NR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ009QQitemZ 190013858184QQrdZ1

I dont think its the boost controller considering it did this with my old homemade g-valve. All of the vacuum lines have been redone along with a new mcmastercarr vacuum block. I have the boost controller hooked up to the manifold vacuum source and then the wastegate.

Try hooking it up to the compressor, you get a more accurate, stable signal.

It could also be your converter is getting plugged up, if the exhaust is getting restricted, it will make your boost spike. Drop your exhaust, just undo it at the turbo and go for a drive, see what happens.

You could also have a weak can, plug the wastegate straight to the intake, you should see 4-5 psi and it should be solid, if not, your can is done.

i did the unhooking can trick and i get a solid 6 psi no movement at all on the gauge. And it could very well be the exhaust i would imagine. its all original 1989 130k old Well i guess ill just drive it like this until i can get my 2.5 exhaust.

I would say its your boost controller, if its solid hooking it up to the intake, then everything is working properly. Try using the compressor instead of the intake.
