Bootstrap 90 SBEC

How do I bootstrap a '90 TIV SBEC wiring harness? Pin 11 is used... I just want to read the chip from a jy computer I picked up nearly 10 yrs ago.

In-car or on a bench?

The SBEC bootstraps over the Rx line of the SCI port. You apply 12v to that before you key it on and release it immediately on key on so that normal communications can begin.

If you have one of my SCI cables, the 'extra' red wire is the bootstrap wire for the SBEC and SBECII.
