need some help. doing a 2.2 hybrid build, im trying to do it with a 87 block... the less i have to buy the better! what cam gears are you using?(other than the fwd ones, becuase they are round thouth)
can i use a 89 2.2 crank with by block?
already got the pistons 16v venolia's



send me in the right direction please

Just swap out the crank gear with a round one, other wise you will have to make custome gears and fack around with finding a differnt belt.

i dont think its just a bolt on it would have to be machined out right?

if that is a easy route i'll just that

shelbyplaya is right, im not sure that you could even find a square tooth belt for a hybrid?

If you're doing it with a non-common block motor you can't just swap crank sprockets.

If you must do it with the older block you'll be on your own for the cam sprockets. You should be able to find something with a square tooth belt that works, but it may be a challenge. IIRC the timing belts which work for the hybrids are just a Nissan belt which happens to work out for us.
