ok so i am rebuilding the engine in my shelby Z and i dont know what turbo to use. I plan to tune the car to 250hp for the street and 300hp for racing, but i am more concerned about the 250hp on the street. My setup consaists of

Bottom end: Pre CB, mahle 20 overs, forged rods, cast crank, new oil pump, rings, bearings, seals

MPG Mike top end, 48mm tb, i have stock inj, +40% and 2 cold start injectos

turbo...I have the stock t2 that came off the car, a t2 turbo with a busted off sv bolt that will get a 3"SV if i can get the busted bolt out and a t3/t4 hybrid 50 trim stage 2 .63 A/R

so...t2 or t3/t4 hybrid for 250hp

I would get a S-E50 stg 2 .63. Most versitle turbo I've seen. Can go 11's in a 3000 lbs car and drive *like* a stock Garrett. The good old T3 S-60 is another excellent choice if your'e looking for 330 HP. The stock turbo is good for 275 HP. Should run bottom 13's in a 3000 lb car.

I recently converted my N/A Spirit to 2.5 turbo. But I realized that '89 was the only year a "base model" spirit/acclaim could be bought with a turbo engine. But mine is a '91. I wanted the unmarked turbo car look.......

well might as well try running what ya already got. Try the 3" SV on your stocker and see if it puts out the power you want. For some it's enough, for others, not so much.

my main thought on this are:
its got a good top end so it should be able to make more power alot easier
its a preCB so i dont want to push it too hard....i only want 250hp for DD
the t2 turbo would be almost lagless with this setup
i dont care if i can only make 275hp in the end...as long as i will be good for 250

I think im gonna use the t2 turbo at first then later swap it out for the t3/t4 later

Stick with the T2 and 3 inch SV. If you find its not fast enough, get the S60.
