Is this possible? Some threads I have read mention that the new MOMO knob that resembles the GLHS knob will not fit the 555 shiter in my car. I was wondering if anyone has done this already that could give me some insight.

Thanks,

Ben Huebner

The tread inner diameter on the glhs shifter is much smaller then the 555 shifter. It might be possible to remove the threaded insert and epoxy in a new one.

The GLHS knob doesn't thread on. It has 3 allen set screws that hold it onto the shifter. There is a threaded sleeve that covers the set screws. You might be able to get it to work if you can put it on high enough for the reverse lockout ring to work. It would look kinda odd in my opinion.

I stand corrected. I was threaded the same was as my SC shifter. You can probably get a momo shifter thats meant for the larger threads that would look better.

So L bodies dont have reverse lock out rings?

Not that I know of, as far as I know all the 525's didn't, except maybe for the early daytonas. Oh and I got your pm, I already got a shifter, but thanks anyways!

Ok, it bet its because they are rod shifted, I had completely forgotten about that.

The L-body shifter used a different reverse lockout. You have to press down on the shifter in order to shift into reverse.
