My SRT4 is rapidly approaching the quarter million barrier! The motor still idles at 20" vacuum. Yes, it is using more oil, but is no big deal. Thank you Red Line Oil!

I'm curious to see what numbers it would put down on the dyno and the track as compared to new....

Reaper...It was fast enough to be in the Q16 at SDAC 20...I ran him first round!

Nice job Steve...car looks great.

That is a crap load for a relatively new car...old Matchbox is nearing 300,000 miles, of course it has gone through 11 5 speeds in the first 100,000 miles, one automatic in another 100,000 miles, the current automatic has nearly 200,000 miles on it (half from a Caravan that it was used in before Matchbox on a Rural Mail Route), and the first motor lasted 100,000 miles, as did the second, the 3rd was a tall block 2.5 that had 3 sets of pistons/pins put in, and now the 4th has under 50,000 miles.....all my 5 speeds were replaced due to breakage, the first automatic was just plain worn out, while the second automatic is going strong and fluid looks new...thanks to COAN converter and a FMVB. The first two motors were just plain worn out...egg shaped cylinder walls. The 2.5 tall block was replaced since the pistons/pins kept making SEVERE knocking noises at low mileage. If I had all the money I have sunk into the Matchbox since new I could have a 10 second Horizon that is totally streetable, but, think of all the money it has made!

Congratulations!

PS...my Pit Bull (05 SRT4) has only 71,000 miles so far.

Chris,
At 212,000 the car put down 303whp & 337torque. At SDAC 20, the maiden voyage down the track net a bunch of 13.50 passes. The car "feels" faster, but numbers don't lie.

---------- Post added at 07:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:52 PM ----------

I want to see how many miles this thing is going to last. I have been amazed myself!

I owe it all to not letting the boy drive the car!

Wow! That car is still putting down some nice numbers! I agree that I think it should be motivated down the 1320 a bit quicker, but there are a huge number of variables there, and we all know that! It's still friggin quick and it looks great! :thumb:

At SDAC 20 the temps and humidity were terribly high. Have you run it since then? I bet it would do better than the 13.5s it did there. 250k is impressive!

Did you ever have any major issues before the 250k? How many timing belt changes? I think these engines should easily go a half million miles with regular timing belt changes. If volvo's can go that long with a weaker block Chrysler should be able too.

No problems at all really. Original timing belt went at 162,000. I have gone through 6 sets of pads and Rotors counting the racing pads that lasted only 7,000 miles. On the 4th set of plugs (I run Denso Iridiums), original clutch went at 208,000. Turbo, intercooler upgrade, fuel pump upgrade, strut replacements all around 212,000. 1 cam sensor, but it did not fail, it was oil soaked. On my 6th set of tires. Changed the oil every 10,000 using Amsoil EaO filters with predominantly Red Line Oil. I am in the home stretch at 249,845!

This makes me feel somewhat better. My car is about to hit 27k and the front rotors just started shuddering.

Good thing Justin isn't here anymore
we'd have to hear about moving all the old rotors and flwheels again ;)

Car still looks good. I switch cars so often that i havent put more than 50k on any one of them but thats definitely been long enough to ruin some of them. I wonder if i could keep a car decent for 250k now, with the benefit of my mistakes:yuck:. Maybe one day i'll find something that hits all my buttons and keep it long enough to try.

Keep it up, nice car!
