My stock gauge cluster quit working in my Daytona Shelby, and I would like to replace it with the 160 mph version if I can find one. Please let me know.

92 Spirit RT's had 150MPH, were the Daytona's the same? Were there RT Speedo's and non RT for Daytona's too?

Billy,
I think Tom (aka; xtrempickup on TD.com) might have one for sale. Not sure of the price, but you can PM him on TD.
For those wondering if a 160 exists, here is a pic of how you like to see them! :thumb:

Cool.

I'll have to pull out the dealer order books and see if that's an RT only cluster or not.

Thanks for the heads up Ralph! I can't afford to pay an arm and a leg for one, so hopefully I can get what would be a really neat addition to my car for a reasonable cost! :)

I would have loved to be in the car when the pic was taken.

I would like to buy your broken one if you want to sell it.

BTW, my IROC R/T has a 160 unit and I have seen it at 160 twice. No BS.

I do have a question now... are the connectors to the back of the gauge cluster different from years '90 to '92 although the appearance of the clusters is the same?

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that all of the connectors are the same. We have swapped 92's & 93's for 2.5 w/boost gauge into 2.5 ex-N/a car and also into a 93 3.0 car. We have made a few swaps checking out Speedo's and never had a mismatch on the connectors. Haven't actually tried a 90/91 though.

Awesome, that's what I'm hoping Ralph. Tom is sending me a pic. of the back of the R/T gauge cluster so I can compare them though.

Also, you have a PM Ralph!

My canadian 91' Daytona Shelby goes up to 160MPH or 260KPH, haven't taken it there yet! I believe only the 91' Daytona Shelby export models got the 160MPH dash, this includes Mexico, Canada, and Europe.

i would think the cluster in the pic would be in a car with a V6 or 2.5 turbo, 'cause the 2.2 RT motor is supposed to redline at 6500, not 6 grand!!

That pic is an actual picture taken in my 93 Iroc R/T, then I enhanced the locations of the needles. No change was made to the red line. ;)

you could always swap in a digital cluster

Only later 1992 IROC R/T's and all '93 IROC R/T's got the 160mph speedo.(I've actually seen a few 1992 R/T's without it).

Through the dealer they are $600 with a $400 core IIRC(this was a few years ago).

Yes, the tachs are different in the R/T's with the redline actually starting at 6500rpm, but it's kinda orangish before that.

Yes, it is a direct bolt-in from 1990-1993 Daytona's. Those year LeBarons should also work. I don't know about '92 oe '95 J-bodies however...

I can't say that for sure, but the only reason I could see the export models getting it is because it would have been KPH and the Phantom R/T(16V) got them too. As for the 160MPH...I KNOW I've seen at least 3 '92 IROC R/T's that didn't have them...
