So what do you think about this... Waste of money?? I mean it is super cheap.... How does that Boost Gauge work... Has the other piece that I have not seen before(the 3 nippled piece without the control knob)... Do you think that is worth buying, or is it not??? Any help is appreciated.. Here is a link!!!

Get a decent one. The ebay ones are chinese knockoffs and work like crap/leak. I run a REAL turboXS type H BOV and love it!

I have an eBay knock off of a rfl bov. Works great. Never leaked on me. I've had it for 5 years now.

thats cuz the rfl knockoff is still 100% mechanical. that hks will leak like a baby's butt.

if you want a NICE boost controller, look into turbosmart. we had one on a csx, and its by far the nicest controller we've ever had. If cash is on the brain, cindy is right, the brass Gvalves work just fine.

I also run a Txs type H and can vouch for its effectiveness. However, I'm gonna be that a-hole and toss my vote in for electronic boost controllers.

old school Apexi avc-r's can be found cheap, are very easy to tune, offer dual boost settings, and can spool a turbo faster than an MBC. (solenoid blocks any pressure from reaching the wastegate can before its time to open)

compare getting out of the car to put a half crank on your mbc to hopping on the highway and tapping a button. much easier

It's way too easy to generalize about Ebay products. There really is no brand identity with these knockoffs. So one Chinese factory may have made an exact copy and actually have something that resembles a QC process. Another one might make something that kinda sorta looks the same but has crappy machinery and no QC. And both products are sold for the same dirt cheap price on Ebay. Which one will you end up with?

Those G-valves can be purchased directly from Grainger or from McMaster-Carr for $8.32 (PN 48935K25). Grainger PN is different and don't have a catalog handy.

Btw i used to get them for about $5. But you'll have to get the barb nipples to install.
$25 isn't bad considering you can directly install. But if you want cheap you can do it cheaper yourself.

Run an air fuel gauge so you don't overboost and smoke a piston.
Another thing to consider is that the BOV is open anytime you're pulling vacuum. It should have a filter or be piped into the clean side of your airbox.

The electronic boost controllers are sweet! no doubt about it, but it depends on what your set-up is. Doesn't make sense to put in a $300 boost controller if you just want 15 psi of boost and daily drive. But put it in your 400+ hp weekend warrior and set a low boost and high boost goal, and boost by gear etc.... yea, that's cool! and your $25 G-valve won't do that!
Ebay is hit and miss, trouble is you don't know if you will get lucky and get a good one, or get a bad one. We have seen so many cheap BOV's leak when we do boost leak checks that I wouldn't even waste my money in hope of getting a good ebay one. Just buy a good one the first time

That's all well and good, but don't forget to buy the 0.020" drill bit for the vent hole. Actually, buy several of them, because even the ones you don't break don't last very long.
