I had permanently mounted my w.b. O2 in my van. Well now it's time to tune my Dad's T&C wagon. I was thinking about buying the Innovate LM-2 but that's $350 and I can't justify that. Innovate sells an 18' O2 cable for $79 for the LM-2 or a 10' cable for $20 for the LM-1. Since I'm cutting the end off anyways I ordered the $20 cable. Just to make sure it works I stuck it in the end of my exhaust. I'm in the process of copying Innovate's tail pipe O2 adaptor. Again, I couldn't justify $75 and you can only use it on vehicles with no catalytic converters. Neither my truck or my van has one. My Dad's wagon does so I'll have to weld an O2 bung in it.

Now I just need a plastic box for it.

I got the exhaust pipe clamp done. You can only use it on vehicles without catalytic converters so I couldn't justify buying the one Innovate sells for $75. I basically built it for my truck to see how lean it really runs with the 360 engine and the 318 computer. My Dad's car will have a bung welded in because he has a cat and my van already has one. I got the idea from Innovate's exhaust clamp and built it out of scrap metal I had lying around.

Come on A.J. what did you build it for? :eyebrows:

It IS a two part thread, making the w.b. portable to tune my Dad's wagon and making the exhaust clamp for the truck.

The truck is still a little lean. It floats between 14.7 and high 15's. I want to put the 40 psi regulator back in it to see how lean that was. The fuel trims are about 4 % so they're pretty close to each other (w.b. and fuel trims). Sometimes shows 16's. It drops to 11's in WOT. I have and idea to make my new fuel pressure regulator adjustable for more pressure. I don't need the vacuum nipple since my '94 5.2 computer is calibrated to see steady fuel pressure from the returnless system. I'm going to tap threads into the vacuum nipple and screw in a machine screw to hold the diagram down. I stuck a drill bit in it today and was able to get more than 60 psi out of it. When I get it done I'll post my results in the thread I started on converting from returnless to return type fuel system.

It really sounds like the fuel is perfect, and 11:1 at WOT is a bit rich for n/a, so adding more fuel will make it even richer, ack.

Yeah, if it is running slightly lean under cruise and slightly rich under WOT it seems you will not be able to improve on that much with just fuel pressure changes. I would not add pressure unless i was getting lean misfires, and even then i would suspect a weakness in the ignition system since 15s to low 16 isnt THAT lean.

I think it's pretty good where it is. I want to try the screw in the fuel pressure regulator thing to see if it works. Besides, maybe it will run as good at 50 psi compared to the 60 it's at now so why run more pressure than I have to. I just want to try different stuff to see what works the best since I'm treading new ground. I might discover something that will work out/help someone else.

14-15 cruise and 11 wot, I wouldn't touch the fuel :)

what are you doing on the wiring side to make it easily plug in to power it?

Cigarette lighter plug.

That's what AJ told me he was gonna use.

A cigarette lighter adaptor I bought at Radio Shack. Look in the last picture in my first post. It's in there.

I bought a case at Harbor Freight for my wideband to keep it organized. I got tired of dealing with the spaghetti when I wanted to use it. I built a shelf to separate the stuff I need from the stuff I don't. Last night we took my Dad's wagon to the track for the first time with the 3 bar hooked up. I'm using the 8v Maserati cal. I had welded an O2 bung on during the week. We bring a jack to the track to change tires so all I had to bring extra were jack stands and a creeper to get underneath it. It worked out great. Baseline and WOT A/F ratio's were way rich. Both started out in the low 10's and I got WOT up to 11.5ish and baseline to high 14's low 15's.

I cut a couple of grooves in the case to get the wires out so I can close the lid without crushing them.
