And what does it do? Its been years, but on my old charger I think this connected to the positive battery terminal?

To be clear, I'm talking about the orange wire with the stripped end that isn't connected to anything. Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken that's the wire for the direct battery feed stuff. You may want to look that up first though.

I swear both my 86 GLHT's have that wire with a connector on it, neither are plugged into anything.
I replaced the engine harness in my race car with a brand new one from Chrysler in the mid 90's
I'd go look at it for ya but I'm in S.Korea, sorry.

I lost my old wiring diagrams a while back, so I've got nothing to look it up against.

I could swear that on my old '85, if that wire wasn't connected I coudln't get the thing to crank or start. I think that it used to have a connector on it, or was part of the original positive battery terminal clamp.

The wire you're thinking of is the same one I am thinking of. It came off the + bat terminal and had a connector on it.

That's the one in my mind, because I was once stuck in Ludlow CA after that wire broke, and there wasn't enough length for me to make contact. I had to rig things up to get out of there. What's worse is that I spent the first hour checking over all sorts of other TM specific issues first, and even swapped the LM.

Anyhow, bigger fish to fry with the motor now - so I'll figure the wire out when I get it all back together. I'll see if I can trace it back to help determine where in the diagrams I would even begin to look.. then try to find me some diagrams.
